Take a look at what friends and neighbors have to say about local hot topics and join in on the conversation.

About the school shooting in Florida, I know this has been kicked around before but what about our vets coming home from these wars and they cannot find a job? Some of them are homeless, etc. and of course some of them are wounded badly, but why can’t they be given jobs at a lot of these schools across the country? They already know about guns and how to use them and I don’t know why that’s never been done. Seems like it would be a good idea. Concerned Citizen

I find it rather convenient that Comcast can charge us extra this year for our boxes and use our houses as cell towers for their cell phones off of their boxes.

All this stuff going on in schools and Pottsgrove High School never set their security alarm since it’s been installed. Figure that one out.

To the person who contacted Sound Off about the Spring City police and fire department, as I cannot personally speak for the police I can for the fire department when I say that we volunteer our time 100 percent, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. This includes holidays, nights and weekends. If you feel that you can make a change or want to voice your opinions please stop down to the firehouse on Monday nights at 7 p.m. and do it in person.

I’m calling in about calling Bill Sharon. Someone called me a busybody. I wouldn’t consider myself a busybody. It was at least three to four days after the snow had fallen and the sidewalks still weren’t shoveled and it was just a safety hazard because I was out walking and almost fell. So please don’t call me a busybody.

If President Trump did nothing wrong nor did his campaign, why doesn’t he just let the facts come out? If he has nothing to hide he has nothing to fear. If he continues to protest, there must be a reason.

Thank you Mr. Wolf for trying to get this gerrymandering straightened out. Republicans got it all screwed up. Maybe we’ll get it straight this time. Thanks again Mr. Wolf. Keep the good work up.

Janus vs. AFSCME, Council 31, to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court, may result in a mortal wound to the heart of public sector unions in nonright-to-work states like ours. If plaintiffs are successful, state and municipal workers, as a First Amendment matter, will no longer be required to subsidize organized labor as a condition of employment. Mark Furlong

For all these people blaming the NRA for the shooting problem I think they ought to take a look at what happened in the past with a ban on assault rifles. People went out and bought them before the ban went into effect so there are even more assault weapons out there. So that’s not going to change the problem. What they’re going to have to do is put metal detectors and guards at the entrance of the schools so your little angels don’t carry guns into the schools.

Congratulations to the state Supreme Court for providing a fair redistricting to elect our representatives in Washington. Goofy stops kicking Donald Duck.
