Trash hauler Mascaro lands big contracts
AUDUBON » J.P. Mascaro & Sons was recently awarded two municipal waste and recycling collection contracts totaling $4.75 million.
The first contract, valued at $4 million, was awarded to J.P. Mascaro & Sons to serve the city of Carbondale, in Lackawanna County. Under the terms of that five-year contract, the company will be responsible for providing once a week trash collection and recycling services for all residents of the city. J.P. Mascaro & Sons has served as the city’s contracted waste service provider for more than 20 years.
“We are extremely pleased that our company has been chosen to serve the city’s residents for the next five years. We value our business relationship with the city,” Sam Augustine, Mascaro sales and marketing director said in a press release.
Mascaro’s local Nanticoke Division will perform the once a week collection service for Carbondale.
The second contract, valued at $750,000, was awarded by the Borough of Roseto in Northampton County. Under the terms of that contract, J. P. Mascaro & Sons will provide once a week recycling and waste collection services for residents.
The contract takes effect March 1. Mascaro will service the Roseto contract out of its Lehigh Valley Division, located in Allentown. The Lehigh Valley Division of J.P. Mascaro has 75 collection vehicles and 100 employees serving municipalities, institutions, commercial and industrial customers in the greater Lehigh Valley area.
