George W. Jones Jr., 85, of Royersford

George W. Jones, Jr., 85, of Royersford, husband of Eleanor L. (Setzler) Jones of 65 years, passed away Thursday March 1, 2018 at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville.

Born in Spring City, he was the son of the late George W., Sr. and Mary (Brunner) Jones.

George served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a building inspector and enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. George was a member of Zion’s United Church of Christ in Pottstown, the Building Officials of PA, American Legion Post 602, Cub Scout Master for several years, and was a 32 degree Mason at Spring-Ford Masonic Lodge No. 553. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his dogs. George cherished time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Surviving along with his wife is one son, Rev. Paul L. Jones husband of Louise (Linnemeier); one daughter, M. Ellenbeth Pepe wife of the late Dennis Pepe; three grandchildren, Matthew Cubbler husband of Lauren (Cording), Joseph Pepe husband of Elizabeth (Grossman) and Daniel Pepe; and three great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, George was predeceased by his grandson, Andrew Cubbler and his two sisters.

A Masonic Service will be held Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 10:45 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring City. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George’s memory to Zion’s United Church of Christ, 209 Chestnut St., Pottstown, PA 19464.
