Joseph R. Morrone, 65, of Linfield

Joseph R. Morrone, 65, of Linfield, husband of Kathleen (Evanisko) Morrone, passed away on Monday, March 5, at Seasons Hospice.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Lucia (Lanza) Morrone.

Joe was an active member of St. Teresa of Calcutta where he was a member of the RCIA and Hospitality Ministry. He also served as Eucharistic minister and helped teach special needs students with Catholic prep. He graduated from Temple University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He worked as an officer of the US Pre-Trial Services in Phila., Eastern Division. Joe was an avid and very good pickleball player. He was beloved by many people from his high school days up until his passing, and will be missed by his friends on 15th & Moore in South Philly.

Surviving with his wife is son Daniel M. Morrone; sister Mary Capodici, wife of Salvatore; and brother Michael Morrone, husband of Joyce. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his son Joseph D. Morrone.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 12, 11:00AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30AM to 10:45AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
