Bally Mennonite

Bally: A Pancake breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. today in Fellowship Hall at Bally Mennonite Church, Route 100. Menu includes pancakes, French toast, sausage, scrapple, OJ, tea and coffee. The cost is a donation. Proceeds will provide funds for the Bally Community Center, a nonprofit organizati­on whose goal is to provide a haven the for kids of the area to come and have some good clean fun, play games, sports or just relax.

East Coventry Union of Churches

Chester Springs: The Lenten Service hosted by The East Coventry Union of Churches will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Parkerford Baptist Church, 92 Baptist Church Road. Host Pastor Rev. Robert E. Davalt II. Rev. Ron Hughes of St. Matthew’s UCC will preach.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

Obelisk: Wednesday, March 14, A Lenten Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road. A Community Dinner will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. All are welcome.

Christ Lutheran

Barto: A mid-week Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road.

First Presbyteri­an

Pottstown: The Prime Timers will be having their Pot Luck Dinner and Hymn Sing beginning at 5 p.m. on Sunday in Fellowship Hall at First Presbyteri­an Church. Jr. Seekers will be going ice skating at Center Ice in Oaks from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost is $5 for skate rental.

St. James Lutheran

Limerick: Girl Scout Sunday will be observed during Sunday worship at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road. Girl Scouts will serve as lectors, acolytes and ushers. The youth of the church will serve a dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Devotions, discussion and music will be part of the Lenten service.

Centennial Lutheran

Kimberton: An interfaith Community Lenten worship service will be hosted at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Centennial Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill Road. The Rev. Nathan Coleman, pastor at Bethel Baptist Church of Phoenixvil­le will be preaching. Refreshmen­ts will be served following the worship service. All are welcome.

Mount Carmel UMC

St. Peters: Refreshmen­ts will be served after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyvil­le Road. Everyone is welcome.

Shepherd of the Hills

Bechtelsvi­lle: A new session of the Bible Institute will begin Monday, March 12, and will end July 16 at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansvi­lle Road.

St. Paul’s UCC

Pottstown: A Spaghetti and Meatball dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. Franklin St. Includes salad, bread, drink and dessert. Cost is $8 Adult, $4 Kids 5 to 12 , age 4 and under free.

Trinity UCC

Pottstown: A special call for volunteers is being made by Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St. Help is needed to care for the altar after church on Sunday a month. Also, volunteers are being accepted for the new “Visitation Team” under the direction of Pastor Nichole Jackson. Finally, help is needed at the Pancake Breakfast being held at Applebee’s on North State Street on Saturday, March 17, from 8 to 10 a.m. See Kris Schwab or Carolyn Dillon to serve.

Coventryvi­lle UMC

Pottstown: The Thrift Shop is open today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Coventryvi­lle United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Ridge Road. A Soup and Sandwich Dinner will be hosted from 4 to 6:30 p.m. tonight. The cost is $8 and children under 5 are free. The menu includes three different soups and hotdogs.

St. Paul’s UCC

Pottstown: A Spaghetti Dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. Franklin St. Ticket prices are: Adults $8, Age 6 to 10 is $4, and Age 5 and Under are free. There will be an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast on Sunday. Tickets prices are: Adults $6, Ages 6 to 12 are $3.50, and Age 5 and under are free. Members of the church will prepare and serve the Community Meal at First Presbyteri­an Church on Thursday.

St. John’s UCC

Pottstown: Members of St. John’s United Church of Christ are collecting food for Operation Backpack which provides food to students in our community who might go without food over the weekend if not for this program. This project will continue through mid-April. The congregati­on also continues to collect items for CWS Hygiene Kits. Easter Flower order slips are available from Keith Edlund. Orders are due by March 18.

St. Luke Lutheran

Gilbertsvi­lle: The Community Clothing Rack will be open for distributi­on from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Luke Lutheran Church. The Soup Supper will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and the midweek Lenten service will begin at 7:30 p.m. A special invitation to all on Saturday, March 17, as St. Luke member, Bob Ballantyne, and his son, Scott, present an informativ­e and inspiratio­nal program called “Keysstrong: Concher-ing Irma.” The Ballantyne­s have been fly fishing in the Florida Keys for 16 years. This past January they experience­d the rebuilding of the area following damage created by Hurricane Irma. The program begins in the sanctuary at 7 p.m. followed by a time of fellowship and refreshmen­t by Nancy Ballantyne in Memorial Hall. There is no admission fee, but a freewill offering will be collected. Please contact the church office at 610367-9738 to let us know how many will be attending.

Zion’s UCC

Pottstown: Kim Adamson, member in discernmen­t at Moravian Theologica­l Seminary, will serve as guest minister at the 10:15 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. Sunday will celebrate the One Great Hour of Sharing, an offering begun by the Apostle Paul to respond to the needs of Christian communitie­s in distant places. Easter Flower orders are due by Sunday, March 18. Lilies, daffodils and tulips are given in memory of or in honor of friends and families. Women’s Fellowship begins its annual Hoagie Sale from March 1 through May 31. Tickets are $7 each for one small hoagie from Ice House Deli. See Fellowship members for tickets.

Brownback’s UCC

Spring City: All are welcome to remain after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road, for Social Hour in Fellowship Hall, hosted by Greg Siwik and Herb Davis. The third annual Garden Club Spaghetti Dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. This is a free event, with donations being taken at the door. Patrick Gouker and his Boy Scout troop will be hosting the dinner. All proceeds will go directly to funding the Eagle Scout project that Patrick will be leading in the church’s Community Garden.

St. Peter’s Lutheran

Pottstown: The congregati­on of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St., is asked to support the local school’s Operation Backpack program by donating single, individual­ly wrapped, and readyto-eat food items (no cooking required) that will be distribute­d by the local schools to the children in the Pottstown area. Wednesday Lenten Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with scripture readings, choir anthem and Lenten hymns.
