Jean L. Cherrup, 95, of Pottstown

Jean L. (Seiler) Cherrup, 95, wife of the late Earl Benz, and the late George Cherrup, of Pottstown, PA, died Friday March 9, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services, Pottstown.

Born in Muir, PA, she was a daughter of the late Isaac A. and Sarah A. (Brown) Seiler. Jean was employed as a telephone operator with the former Bell Telephone Co., for 32 years retiring in 1979. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown. Jean was active with the former American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her niece Judith Torrens Cogdill, wife of Gene Cogdill, Pottstown; and a dear friend and caregiver Shirley Fries, Pottstown. She was predeceased by one brother, Lloyd L. Seiler and one sister, Marie A. Endy.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Friday March 16, 2018 at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Phillip Waselik. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. There will be a viewing from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.
