Peter J. Mascelli Jr., 70, of Pottstown

Peter J. Mascelli Jr., 70, of Pottstown, formerly of Wilkes Barre, husband of Linda A. (Oplinger) Mascelli, passed away on Friday, March 9, at Kindred Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Peter J. Sr. and Rita M. (Fischer) Mascelli.

Peter was a 1972 graduate of Kings College in Wilkes Barre where he received his bachelor’s degree in history. He worked for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in Rosemont as a counselor from 1987 to 2009. His love for family and friends was expressed through his cooking, sharing of history facts, movie trivia and his extensive music collection. He left a part of himself with everyone he met and will be sadly missed.

Surviving with his wife are siblings Bernadette Modelo, wife of Felix, Michael J. Mascelli, Robert C. Mascelli, and Margaret Mascelli Ward. Also surviving is his Aunt and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces, grand nephews.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 24, 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown. Visitations will be from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM.
