Sherman F. Broadbelt Jr.

Sherman F. Broadbelt Jr., 77, passed away April 4, 2018. Formerly of Spring Mount, he moved to Schwenksville in August of 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Janiuk) Broadbelt, in September of 2011.

Born July 9, 1940 in Norristown, he was a son of the late Sherman F. Broadbelt Sr. and Neva (Fay) Broadbelt. His places of employment included Schmidt’s Brewery of Norristown, Allied Tank Co. of Collegeville, and Harris Fulfillment of Trooper.

Mr. Broadbelt was car enthusiast who enjoyed hotrods and attending classic car shows. He also enjoyed time spent in Ocean City, MD, where he was a beach comber and could usually be found with his metal detector.

Surviving is a son, Thomas Broadbelt and his wife, Doreen, of Schwenksville; a daughter, Cynthia Farra and her husband, Thomas, of Perkiomenville; three grandchildren, Amanda, Danielle and Mackenzie; and five great grandchildren, Gabriella, Anthony, Hailey, Eloise and Meadow. He is also survived by three siblings, Neva Taschner, Laurie Sestak and Gary Broadbelt; and his loyal dog, Romeo.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally and Lois.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tues., April 10, from 9-11AM at the R. L. Williams Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Rd., Skippack. A procession will then leave for the funeral service at Limerick Garden of Memories Chapel, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick.
