Barbara Ann McCord, 84, of Cumru Township

Barbara Ann (Wamsher) McCord, 84 of Cumru Township, Berks County, PA formerly of Birdsboro, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

Born Sept. 18, 1933 in Douglassville, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence Wamsher and the late Thelma Ruth (Trace) Wamsher.

She was the widow of Lester Warren “Ernie” McCord.

Barbara was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Morgantown, PA. She was also a member of Birdsboro Rotary Club, Animal Rescue League, Berks County Sheriff’s Association, and the American Legion.

Surviving are her son, Mark S. husband of Christine McCord of Boyertown, PA; 2 grandchildren, Jeremy husband of Jen McCord of Douglassville, PA, Justin husband of Maegan McCord of Exeter Township, PA; four great-grandchildren, Lillian Rose McCord, Harper Evangaline McCord, Dylan Liam McCord and Hailey Marie McCord.

She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.

A viewing will be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 North Spruce Street, Birdsboro, PA on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Birdsboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 6251 Morgantown Rd, Morgantown, PA 19543.
