Penelope M. “Penny” Staudenmay­er, 68, of Shillingto­n, passed away April 13, 2018 at the Reading Hospital surrounded by her loving children.

Born May 7, 1949 in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the eldest daughter of the late Charles L. Wellard and the late Gloria B. Worman.

After graduating from Upper Merion High School in 1967, she attended Western Carolina University and Ursinus College pursuing a degree in accounting. Penny held positions in accounting at Certaintee­d in King of Prussia, PA and Brook Ledge Horse Transporta­tion in Oley, PA.

Penny was a devoted mother and grandmothe­r. She enjoyed many hours gardening, sewing, crafting and spending time with her family. She was an avid animal lover with a special love for Labrador Retrievers. She also loved growing African Violet plants. Her favorite place to visit was the Jersey shore and spent many vacations enjoying the sunshine at the beach.

She is survived by her son, Matthew of Shillingto­n and her daughter, Katey M., wife of Scott Henninger of Sinking Spring and their two sons, Calvin Jeffrey and Dexter Charles. In addition, she will be lovingly remembered by sister Paula, wife of Salvatore M. Pupillo, Gilbertsvi­lle and their daughter Nicole G. Pupillo, Perkiomenv­ille; and brother Charles P. Wellard, husband to Robert W. Mattingly of Washington, DC, stepmother Jane Wellard, stepsister Elena Azuola and stepbrothe­r Edward Azuola all of St. Petersburg, FL.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S. Gulph Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406 with Rev. Nicholas Yzzi, officiatin­g.
