DiCesare lifts Boyertown past Perk Valley, 2-1

Jake DiCesare’s two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning proved the difference in Boyertown’s 2-1 win over Perkiomen Valley in Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division play on Tuesday afternoon.

DiCesare finished 2-for-2 and ruined an otherwise solid outing for Perk Valley starter Tyler Strechay.

Boyertown starter Noah Kurtz pitched six complete innings where he scattered five hits and struck out three. Mike Hohlfeld picked up the save, letting a run cross in the top of the seventh before getting the final out on a grounder back to the mound.

Strechay was tagged for six hits and two runs (both unearned) in six innings of work with four strikeouts. AJ Hansen had two hits out of the leadoff spot while Connor McShea had an RBI single.

METHACTON 2, OWEN J. ROBERTS 1 » Conor Smith and Demetrio Rodriguez each scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the fourth inning during the Warriors’ tight PAC Liberty Division game against the Wildcats.

Andrew Blum (3-for-4) had OJR’s lone RBI with a double to center field in the top of the seventh inning while David Bealer was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Zack Griffin pitched 6-2/3 innings where he was tagged for one run on seven hits and a walk. He struck out four before giving way to Rodriguez for the final out. Dawson Stuart took the hard-earned loss, pitching four innings where he scattered three hits and was tagged with a pair of unearned runs. BOYERTOWN 5, METHACTON3» April Hurlock went 3-for-4 with a double, two triples an RBI and a run scored, and Kylie Hertzler added a home run for the Bears, whose two-run ninth was the difference in their PAC Liberty Division game with the Warriors. PHOENIXVIL­LE 11, CONESTOGA 4 » The Phantoms’ seven-run rally in the bottom of the fifth inning proved the difference in this non-conference matchup.

Aubrie Breisblatt finished 2-for-5 with a solo home run, three runs scored and two RBI out of the leadoff spot while Melissa Cappelli (run scored, two RBI) and Katherine Rutledge (RBI) each finished with three hits. Kendall Brown was strong in the circle where she pitched all seven innings and held Conestoga to six hits. CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 6, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 5 » The Vikings suffered a non-conference loss against the Titans despite a monster day from Jordan Sell.

Sell finished 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs and three RBI. Kara Fusco also hit a homer for Perk Valley. Lex Ortman was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored out of the leadoff spot for C.B. Boys lacrosse

SPRING-FORD 15, POTTSGROVE 0 » An offense that got contributi­ons from nine different players combined with a stifling defense to give the Rams a victory over Pottsgrove in PAC divisional crossover play. The Rams set a powerful tone for the game early, building an eight-goal lead in the first quarter and going up by 13 at the half.

Sean Erdman led the way with six goals, adding one assist in the process. Jarrod Marenger (three assists), Kyle Decerio and Collin Pettine each had two tallies while Brad Hart, Nick Uba and Pat Wixted all scored once. Peyton Gensler was credited with three assists, and Ryan Judge one. METHACTON 10, UPPER MORELAND 3 » The Warriors rode an early lead to a handy non-league victory over the Bears.

Goals from Kyle Kacala and Stanley Kolimago helped Methacton (2-8) get off to a 5-0 lead that went to 7-2 at the half. Kolimago, Greg Cardaci and Justin Sanelli each added goals while goalkeeper Matt Wall made four saves and gave up only two goals in the effort. Faceoff specialist Emmet Sullivan went 13-17 on the day to help Methacton dominate possession. WILSON 15, DANIEL BOONE 0 » Cameron Magalotti scored four goals and Jack Grayson had three goals and an assist as the Bulldogs (5-0, 8-2) shut out the Blazers (14, 2-4) in Berks Conference play. Girls lacrosse

METHACTON 15, POTTSTOWN 4» With Mia Sheldon figuring on seven of their goals, the Warriors rolled over the Trojans in their PAC divisional crossover game.

Sheldon scored twice and assisted five times on Methacton’s bounty of goals — Julia Byrne getting four, and Sydney Tornetta (two assists) and Liz Chipman each getting three. Ebony Reddick netted a hat trick for Pottstown, whose other tally came from Da’zah Regusters. SPRING-FORD 22, MERION MERCY 12 » Cassie Marte and Mac Maloney combined for 10 goals scored during the Rams’ non-conference win over the Golden Bears.

Marte scored six times and Maloney added four while two-goal outings were credited to Katie Metzler, Lauren Constantin­e, Michaela Haney, Liv Yeagle and Jordan Nitto. Natalie Wechter and Erin Connelly rounded out the scoring with solo tallies for SpringFord while Amelia Keller made eight saves. Arianna Lavelle paced Merion with six goals.

Boys volleyball

DANIEL BOONE 3, WILSON 0 » The Blazers swept their Berks Conference match with the Bulldogs by set scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-12.

Colin Gabbett had 10 kills, three aces and five digs for Boone (4-1, 5-1), with Sean Zamichieli adding six kills and one block. Colin O’Toole chipped in with 22 assists and four digs, and Luke Degenhart had nine digs to lead the Blazers.

Boys track

DANIEL BOONE 100, CONRAD WEISER 50 » Jason Cremi won three individual events, and Max Ober had another pair of firsts, as the Blazers ran past the Scouts in their Berks Conference meet.

Cremi dominated the sprints with his victories in the 100 (12.4) and 200 (23.4), then completed his hat trick by taking the triple jump (40-11). Ober completed Boone’s sweep of the jumping events with his firsts in the long jump (198) and high jump (6-0).

Girls track

CONRAD WEISER 82, DANIEL BOONE 68 » Vivian Kase and Emily Lodge were the bright spots for the Blazers in their Berks Conference meet with the Scouts, each winning two individual events.

Kase took the 800 (2:36.5) and 1,600 (5:49.5) while Lodge headed the long jump (15-4) and triple jump (31-6 ½).
