Stanley Arthur Miller, 75, of Pottstown, PA, passed away at home on Tuesday April 17, 2018. He was the husband of Judith (Shutt) Miller. He suffered with Posterior Cortical Atrophy for nine years.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Stanley C. & Elise (Kratz) Miller. He was also predecease­d by his brother, Ronald Miller.

He graduated from Pottstown High School in 1960, and was a graduate of Millersvil­le University with a B.S.(1964) and an M.Ed. Stan taught in Lancaster School District for two years and Owen J. Robert for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He loved teaching Biology.

After he retired from teaching at Owen J. Roberts, Stan began his second career in ministry. In 2004 he graduated from Eastern Baptist Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree. He and his wife were co-interim pastors at Parkside United Church of Christ, Phoenixvil­le, for four years. He loved being involved in ministry, but due to his illness he was unable to continue.

Stan was active in Christian Education and Sunday School work in various churches. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pottstown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Todd (Tami) Miller, Douglassvi­lle, and Chad (Heather) Miller, Womelsdorf, and his grandchild­ren Ahren, Zachary, Brandon, Maddox, Morgan and Tyce. He loved his family and spent much of his life supporting their activities.

Stan loved gardening. He was especially fond of his day lilies. He enjoyed trips to Wiliamsbur­g, VA and Ocean City, NJ.

The family so appreciate­s the many caregivers from Chestnut Knoll at Home and the Hospice Visiting Nurses of Pottstown who made it possible to keep him at home.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 301 King Street, Pottstown on Saturday, April 28 at 11 AM. Officiatin­g will be the Reverend Teresa Ely. Visitation time Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 at church. Burial will be private.
