With the Y closing in two months we have reached a critical point. Obviously Freedom Valley does not care about the YMCA Mission. Borough council needs to call hearings with state officials and all opposing groups and seek an injunction to stop the closing. At the very least petition the National YMCA for Pottstown to retain our own Y separate from Freedom Valley who should return our $2.8 million endowment and the $700,000 a year we paid them for management. Senior Citizen

It’s a shame no local attorney or any legal counsel steps up to help the local Y. I would think that money allotted for one area being used for other things is misappropriated funds. Pottstown should get all the money back that was given to the Pottstown Y. Philadelphia can’t run their own city. Why they were ever invited in is beyond me. Lady Di

Thank you Mr. Wolf for trying to end the loophole regarding gun shows without background checks. We needed this years ago. Let’s just hope the House and Senate go along with it and pass this bill because if they don’t they face the consequences in November. Jay Miller

The crossing guards do not have anything to do with the cones at the middle school. They’re not permitted to touch them in any way, shape or form. If you have a complaint about the cones you go right to the middle school administrators and tell them.

This is to Jim Dandy. On your list of short books you forgot “Terrible school lunches the kids won’t eat” by the lunch lady herself, Michelle Obama.

French President Emmanuel Macron has learned how to handle Trump. Keep heaping praise on him and he’s like putty in your hand. Macron is likely to put that into play to get what he wants from Trump.

Concerning the middle school, fact one, the crossing guards do not put out those cones. Fact two, the school board and school administration approved and authorized the cone system. Fact three, Pottstown School District employees put out those cones. Repeat fact one, the crossing guards do not put out those cones.

I’m always amused to listen to Trump complain about the trade deficit with other countries. His business and his family businesses contribute to this deficit. Why doesn’t he lead by example and help keep America great as it always has been and bring his factories back to the United States? Again, he is a hypocrite.

Well I see they’re letting Meek Mill out of jail. He’s in jail for violating his probation. If he can get out and he doesn’t have to serve his jail time for probation violation then unlock the doors to all the cells for anybody else that’s in there for violating their probation and let them go too. Why should he be treated better than anybody else just because he calls himself a rapper? He doesn’t have any better right to be free than anybody else.

How can we stop all these phone calls about lowering interest rates to credit cards? We don’t use them. It’s different phone numbers all the time, the last two calls were 610489-7890 Griffin and GRI. They shouldn’t be allowed to bug people the way they do. What good is a donot-call list anyway? They say if not interested push number three but you push it and they still call back again. This is getting ridiculous.

Now is the time to check your mailbox if it needs to be repaired or replaced. Also take into consideration they should be installed so that the top is 41 to 45 inches from the ground and set back 6 to 8 inches from the face of the curb or road edge. The township is not responsible for any damage caused by improper mailbox placement or rotten mailbox post.

Trump’s wife has told Donald she does not want him to run for his second term, like he’s going to be around then. However he has said it’s a harder job than he thought it would be. He is not a good president or a good businessman and he certainly is not a deal maker. So what is Donald good at? He is hands down the best lying president that ever took the oath — more than 1,200 lies on record and still counting.

Why won’t the Owen J. Roberts School Board answer questions posed by taxpayers at meetings? Why won’t they answer questions posed by its own board members at meetings? Why did one board member say “Asking these questions is posing a burden on the OJR administration?” Why won’t they tell us how much it’s going to cost to buy each ninth, 10th and 11th grader a computer tablet? What is the OJR school board hiding from taxpayers?
