Perk Valley tops Interboro in OT, 7-6

Richie Marshall scored 12 seconds into overtime to lift the Perkiomen Valley boys lacrosse team to a 7-6 win over Interboro in Pioneer Athletic Conference play on Friday afternoon.

Marshall’s score came off a feed from Brian Fehr, after Matt Brock won the faceoff. Marshall finished with a pair of goals scored while Fehr and Max Nice each finished with a goal and an assist. Nick Pammer, Connor Roop and Zach Schiffman were each credited with solo tallies while Rob Farrington made 11 saves in goal. Johnny Scibello and Brett McLaughlin scored two goals apiece for Interboro. SPRING-FORD 12, OWEN J. ROBERTS 4 » The Rams used an 8-2 second-half advantage to lock up a win and secure their unbeaten regular season in PAC play.

Peyton Gensler scored four times while Jarrod Marenger (assist) and Ryan Rosenblum each netted hat tricks in the win. Kyle Mason posted three assists while Kyle Decerio and Gavin Hare each notched solo tallies in front of Kyle Pettine’s nine-save performanc­e in goal. Christian Brofft, Brian Monk, Logan Clefisch and Cooper Chamberlai­n registered OJR’s goals.

Girls Lacrosse

BOYERTOWN 14, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 2 » Amanda Diachynsky netted a hat trick along with four assists, and Kylie Webb contribute­d two goals and three assists toward the Bears’ victory over the Vikings in their PAC Liberty Division game.

Ashley Dierolf and Sydney Fox added two-goal outputs to the Boyertown offense. Kat Kelley had a goal and an assist for Perk Valley, and Riley McGettigan completed the Vikes’ scoring. SPRING-FORD 19, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 8 » Jill Quigley’s five-goal outing headed a potent offensive for the Rams in their non-league romp over the Patriots.

Cassie Marte followed with four goals while Katie Metzler (four assists), Liv Yeagle (two assists) and Mac Doyle each netted two. Erin Connelly, Michaela Haney, Jordan Nitto and Ashley Hudak added solo tallies to back the nine-save goaltendin­g of Amelia Keller.

Softball

PHOENIXVIL­LE 5, BOYERTOWN 2 » The Phantoms broke open a 2-2 tie with a three-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning on the way to a PAC win.

Maggie Duncan (2-for-2) hit a two-run single in the inning and Emma Rakorski finished 2-for-2 with two RBI. Kendall Brown picked up the pitching win, scattering two unearned runs on four hits and just one walk in seven innings. Allison Melahn took the loss for Boyertown, tagged for five runs (three earned) on nine hits in six innings. SPRING-FORD 17, POTTSGROVE 1 » Home runs by Jules Ryan and Maddie Walsh were the biggest of the Rams’ 18 hits as they rolled over the Falcons in PAC divisional crossover action.

Both players had three RBI apiece, headed by Jules Hughes’ four. Winning pitcher Maggie Walsh scattered three hits and one walk while fanning six in a game halted after four innings by the mercy rule.

Co-Ed Track

PENN RELAYS » Owen J. Roberts’ Liam Conway enhanced his final go-round in high-school track by placing fifth in the mile run at the Penn Relays Carnival.

The OJR senior clocked a 4:16.10 in the 16-runner field, which was headed by Kieran McDermott of Bel Air (Md.) in 4:09.63. Conway’s time put him across the finish line 0.35 seconds ahead of Robert Miranda of Menlo School (Atherton, Calif.), who ran a 4:16.45.

Finishing between McDermott and Conway were Cameron Ponder of Mount Tabor (Winston-Salem, N.C., 4:10.98), Drew Maher of Shore Regional (West Long Branch, N.J., 4:11.94) and Maazin Ahmed of Schenectad­y (N.Y., 4:15.56).

Boys Tennis

DISTRICT 1 » Pioneer Athletic Conference qualifiers found themselves eliminated from the district’s Class AAA and AA singles tournament on the first day of competitio­n at Legacy.

Spring-Ford’s Malchu Pascual, coming off last weekend’s championsh­ip showing in the PAC tourney, bowed out to Strath Haven’s Clay Gaieski in AAA action, 6-3, 6-4. Phoenixvil­le’s Graham Light, the league runner-up, was eliminated by Upper Merion’s Jaden Mayer in a 6-7 (7-3), 6-0, 6-1 outing; Mayer, in turn, lost in the second round to Council Rock North’s Dan Kleibhan 6-1, 6-0.

In Class AA, Upper Perkiomen’s Adam Dockery won his opener with Octorara’s Patrick Murphy 6-1, 6-4. But Dockery was halted in his semifinal with Lower Moreland’s Joseph Kvint 6-1, 6-0.
