Their schedules had the schools in a unique homeand-away doubleheader this weekend.

Friday’s rainy weather cut into the first game of the Pottsgrove/Pottstown baseball series, forcing its rescheduling. But the neighboring Pioneer Athletic Conference rivals were able to get Saturday’s date in ... much to the liking of the Falcons, who rallied for a 6-4 victory over the Trojans on their home field.

Pottsgrove used a threerun fifth inning to reverse Pottstown’s initial 4-2 lead into a 5-4 Falcon advantage. It padded that edge with a solo run in the sixth.

Zane Alderfer and Ethan McMonagle each plated pairs of runs for Pottsgrove, with Bailey Delp the winning pitcher off five innings of five-hit mound work. Pottstown got a 3-for-4 from Dalton Mullen, Brandon Gebhard taking the mound loss. WESTTOWN 4, PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 0 » The Panthers were held to four hits in a non-league loss to Westtown School.

Nathaniel Urbina had half Perkiomen’s hits, going 2-for-2. Jayden Kemp and Jeremy Amaro were other players to hit safely.
