Kenneth W. Gerth, 78, of West Lawn

Kenneth W. Gerth, 78, of West Lawn, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in his residence.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Walter and Anna (Koch) Gerth.

Mr. Gerth was a 1957 graduate of Exeter Township High School. He was employed by Firestone/ Occidental Chemical in Pottstown in the plastic and outside maintenance department retiring after 41 years and Vice President of the United Rubber Workers Union. Ken also worked part time as a grounds keeper at Arrowhead Golf Course and as a salesman for Reading Bone Fertilizer. Mr. Gerth is survived by his children Kenneth J. Gerth(Cindy Kahn) of Lower Alsace Township; Kelli L. Gerth(David Byrne) of Exeter Township and Kim A. Nein of Exeter Township and his grandchildren Kenny Gerth, Jr.; Sean Gerth(Felicia DeNardo); Erin Rhoads(Thomi Donovan) and Brian Rhoads and great grandchildren Kaiden Gerth; Hailey and Brayden Donovan. Also surviving is his sister Nancy Roller of Mt. Dora, Florida and his fiancé Martine E. Donner with whom he resided.

Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 4:00 pm. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory Tuesday 3:00-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Tee Lehigh Valley Serving Berks, 424 Center Street, Room 300, Bethlehem, PA 18018 in memory of Mr. Kenneth W. Gerth.
