Herbert W. Nyce

-

Herbert W. Nyce entered into eternal rest on May 1, 2018.

Born in Spring City to Elwood and Helen (Shaw) Nyce on February 23, 1931, he was raised in Trooper.

In 1952 he married his long-time sweetheart, Doris (Smith) Nyce and together they raised four children; Kenneth of Trooper, Jeff of Sanatoga, Lorri (Bill) Dial of W. Caln Twp, Chester County and Eric (Kelly) of South Korea.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. A munition specialist, he was assigned to the Strategic Air Command. He graduated from the N.C.O Academy and after 8 years of service was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sgt.

He is survived by three granddaughters and six great-grandchildren, sisters Doris (Dolly) Favinger and Catherine White and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was pre-deceased by sisters Ruth DeMichael and Carolann Harvey and brother Robert.

Always a “country boy” he was happiest perched atop his John Deere mowing the fields on “the farm”. He was a genius fixing anything mechanical. Can’t fix that mower? Take it to Herb. He retired after 40 plus years at Superior Tube. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a viewing Saturday, May 5, 2018 9:00-11:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home 101 N. Park Ave, Trooper, PA. Interment is private.
