To the caller commenting about college degrees, the education industry has created a work environment where a degree is needed to get many jobs but not needed to actually do the job. I know scores of individuals with degrees who should sue their colleges since it’s obvious they didn’t really get what they went into debt for. That diploma is only meaningful if it is awarded to someone who has the aptitude to use the education for the greater good. Jim Fitch

Obama didn’t get criticized for any of the things that he did accomplish or didn’t accomplish because he always flew under the radar. The people that voted for Trump will you please stand up for him? They’re trying to get him out of office. They’re trying to impeach him. It’s the wrong thing to do. He’s the president of the United States and he’s a very good one so please stop criticizing this president and support him.

Yes Martha, I agree with you, there’s no collusion but there is conspiracy. Guilty pleas and indictment and Trump is implicated. Open your eyes. Jay Miller

In response to the person who said that chemtrails are not chemtrails that they’re just the residue from jets, how do you explain the tic-tac-toe patterns people see in the sky and that we have pictures of by the laymen? Becky B.

Kudos to the dedicated volunteers who made the Carousel at Pottstown a reality for us. In the past year, 130,000 visits have been made to the attraction. Many bus tours have already stopped by and 20 more bus tours which bring overnight tourists to the area are currently booked. Bring your whole family and enjoy this incredible work of art.

Come on East Coventry, let’s not let them build that car auction. We don’t need anything like that anymore. Look what they did over on the Old Schuylkill Road, houses going up by the dozens. We just don’t need any more traffic.

That one place in Delaware is stupid. They’re going have a ban on plastic bags at stores. You get them for free when you go there but now they’re going to stop that. Now if you want a recycled plastic bag you have to pay 10 cents a piece and then if you want their fancy bags you have to pay $2 or more. What logic is that? Stores, stop trying to stop plastic bags. This is what people use when they go to the store.

I heard talk about Trump being nominated for a Nobel prize. I think it’s an April Fools joke about a month late.

To the person talking about Melania’s standards letting her husband cheat on her, what about Miss Hillary’s standards? She let her husband cheat on her in the oval office and she expected to become president of the United States. Give me a break.

I sincerely hope The Mercury will pursue its right-to-know request against the OJR School Board for those emails. It seems this school board and its supreme leader, by removing those who ask questions on behalf of taxpayers from leadership positions and manipulating committee assignments, clearly has something to hide. And this taxpayer believes those emails just might show us what they don’t want us to know. What is the OJR School Board trying to hide from us?

I want to thank the Boyertown students who helped my husband and I find a musical program that we were searching for on Tuesday. They were very ,very helpful and very, very nice and I want to thank them very much.

Tuesday night I opened up my windows for the first time this year. Soon as it turned dark I smelled the same stink that I smelled last year. Must be a factory around that’s burning something after dark. I’d like to find out who it is and report them to the EPA. Beverly

I sure hope The Mercury plans on printing what they find out in the OJR right-to-know, the only way taxpayers will get any information from the administration.

Info Depot, you say Christianity is about love. I say religion actually produces more evil than good. Check your facts through history. Religions only benefit those at the top and it’s all about the money. Follow the money. Question, how can God be so simple if he is capable of among other feats simultaneously monitoring the thoughts of all his creatures and answering their prayers? There are very few atheists in prison. Agnostic

I’d like to thank Jason’s Tree Service here in Pottstown for cutting all these giant pine trees down at the Chesmont Conference Center. It looks beautiful. You can actually see the building. Very nice job. Thank you Jason’s Tree Service. Sound Off is a forum to spur dialogue from residents of the communities we serve on topics of interest in those communities.
