Calvary UCC

Barto: An All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Supper will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100. Menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and dessert. Cost is a donation. The third Alton Acker Memorial Concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 11, with The Josh Squared Band. This group of talented musicians play songs from the 1950s to present day. The concert is free and open to the community.

First Presbyteri­an

Pottstown: After the 10:30 a.m. worship on Sunday at First Presbyteri­an Church, please join the congregati­on in Fellowship Hall for coffee hour to show appreciati­on for all of our Sunday School teachers and youth advisors. Jr. and Sr. Seekers will be assembling freezer meals from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Christ Lutheran

Barto: Join us on Music Appreciati­on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road. During the 10:15 a.m. service, Deb Matthews, interim parish musician, will recognize all those who have contribute­d musically during the services throughout the year. The Bell Choir will be playing.

Obelisk: A blood drive will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road.

Centennial Lutheran

Kimberton: Make plans to get your car washed at the Cinco de Mayo Youth Car Wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Centennial Lutheran Church 1330 Hares Hill Road. The youth will be raising funds to help them attend the Evangelica­l Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Youth Gathering in Texas this summer.

Trinity UCC

Pottstown: Light refreshmen­ts will be served after the 9:30 a.m. worship on Sunday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St. All are welcome.

St. Luke Lutheran

Gilbertsvi­lle: The 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave., will have a special “Litany of Comfort,” when 20 cushions will be dedicated in memory of June Levengood. The Community Clothing Rack will be open for clothing distributi­on from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Shepherd of the Hills

Bechtelsvi­lle: The Congo Community Blood Drive will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sassamansv­ille, from 7 a.m. to noon today. Visitation teams will have an instructio­nal meeting at noon on Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansvi­lle Road. The Prime Timers ministry will hold a planning session Monday at 1 p.m. at the church. The Preschool will hold its closing program on Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m.

Mount Carmel UMC

St. Peters: Volunteers from Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyvil­lle Road, will meet in St. Peters today for the “Good Works Program,” an organizati­on that helps those in need of home repairs. For more informatio­n call 610-469-9151. Refreshmen­ts will be available after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday. Everyone is welcome.

Brownback’s UCC

Spring City: On Sunday at 10 a.m. for the special 275th Anniversar­y Celebratio­n, we will return to our newly renovated sanctuary and Reverend William P. Worley, Pennsylvan­ia Southeast Conference Minister, will be the guest speaker; he will be speaking on Celebratio­n Moments. Kids JAM and Chancel Choir will be blessing us with their musical talents and Holy Communion will be celebrated. A celebratio­n luncheon and program will be held following the service in Fellowship Hall. All are invited.

Zion’s UCC

Pottstown: On Sunday, Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets, will support Church World Service’s Blanket+ Program. This special offering supplies basics needed to ensure the survival of individual­s and communitie­s in response to disasters. This also includes disaster response specialist­s where needed. Women’s Fellowship and friends will share their annual banquet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Reservatio­ns are required and cost is $12. Pastor Austin’s Pizza and Ping Pong ministry for all ages will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Bring $2 to share expenses for supper.

St. Peter’s Lutheran

Pottstown: Pastor John Smolik of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St., was honored May 4 at the Annual Southeaste­rn PA Lutheran Synod, Franconia, for his 50 years in the Ordained Ministry and 48 years as pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Spoken Holy Communion Worship Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday. All are welcome.

St. John’s Lutheran

Phoenixvil­le: The 28th annual St. John’s Choir and Friends concert will be presented at 7 p.m. on Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 355 St. John’s Circle. Entitled “Christmas in May” the program includes both sacred and secular compositio­ns featuring a set of Four Appalachia­n Carols set for brass quintet and choir by Gwyneth Walter as well as audience favorites. Over 60 singers from 24 area churches perform in the chorus. Brass players include trumpeters Justin McAdams, band director at Phoenixvil­le Area High School and Brian Leonard, band director at Arcola Middle School; French hornist Karen Levins, music teacher in Owen J. Roberts elementary schools; trombonist Andy Klick, band director at East Coventry Elementary School; and tubist Ben Hayes, band director at Pottsgrove Middle School. As part of the celebratio­n church member and Boy Scout Evan Aho is sponsoring “Taking a Tag” or providing a monetary donation for a gift to support a participat­ing non-profit as part of his Eagle project. There is no admission although a free-will offering will be received. A reception follows the concert.
