Gov. Tom Wolf has failed as a leader

- — Jack Minster Trappe Republican Committee Chairman

A leader’s job is not to do the work for others; rather, it’s the job of a leader to create an environment where others can figure out how to get things done and achieve success.

Unfortunately, Gov. Tom Wolf has failed as a leader. Wolf has shown that he has no interest in being pro-jobs; his administration is on record saying it wants as many people on SNAP (food stamps) as possible. With the March unemployment rate stalling well below the national average for the tenth consecutive month, Pennsylvania is in dire need of change.

I have studied Senator Wagner’s every vote since he won his write-in campaign for Pennsylvania Senate. Some of his votes make his “moderate” Republican colleagues uncomfortable because while 100 percent pro Pennsylvanians, some votes disrupt establishment norms. I’ve also gotten to know Scott personally, spend face time with him, walk with him. When he says he will do a thing he does exactly that thing. There is no guile in this man. The day he announced his candidacy for governor I fistpumped the air and said YES! We need to elect Scott Wagner – someone who knows jobs. Wagner will put Pennsylvanians back to work. Building a business from scratch that employs almost 500 people, Scott Wagner knows the pride that accompanies a paycheck. Sen. Wagner is the only candidate this November who will keep Pennsylvania from economically morphing into New York State. Stop the brain-drain and retain the exodus of young people out of the state. He creates work opportunities just like he always has even before stepping up to serve back when he was only serving his own family and workers. He is the only proven job-creator running. He’s a bulldozer for Pennsylvania job creation, that’s a fact. The perfect sanity of the record not to be disputed.

As governor, Scott Wagner is going to focus the future of Pennsylvania; training our young people so they can fill our 200,000 available and well-paying skilled labor positions. Part of being a leader is creating the environment for others to grow and prosper; Scott Wagner will get rid of burdensome regulations coming out of Harrisburg so companies have the incentive to expand and hire more workers.

With so much on the line – please join me on May 15 in voting for Scott Wagner.
