Phoenixvil­le, OJR softball eliminated from playoffs

INTERBORO 3, PHOENIXVIL­LE 2 » Bridget Bailey outdueled Kendall Brown as the No. 4 seed Bucs held off the No. 13 Phantoms in a District 1 Class 5A first round game Monday.

After being scoreless through 5 1/2 innings, the game got dramatic. Interboro plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth after a player reached on a wild pitch third strike, a Bailey single before two runs scored on an error following a Lily Bonner grounder to shortstop. the third run scored on a Brielle Kerwood single.

Phoenixvil­le came right back when run-scoring hits from Brown and Katie Rutledge. The Phantoms had the tying run on third and were in position to score on a sacrifice fly by Emma Rakowski, but Nila Green was ruled to have not properly tagged up, ending the game.

Bailey struck out 12 in seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Brown didn’t allow an earned run on six hits and struck out seven with one walk.

Phoenixvil­le ended its season 9-11. Interboro advanced to face Upper Moreland on Wednesday. CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, OWEN J. ROBERTS 2 » Faith Neary played the hero for No. 16 C.B. West in the bottom of the eighth inning, delivering her team a walkoff RBI single to advance over No. 17 OJR in the District 1-6A playoffs.

Angelina Sherba threw a fourhitter over eight innings and didn’t allow an earned run to the Wildcats.

OJR’s Sam Walsh allowed six hits, one earned run, struck out five and walked five in the loss.

Rylie Hijosh and Casey Walker doubled for OJR, which ended

its season 13-8. Central Bucks West faces No. 1 seed Central Bucks South on Wednesday. PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 15, MERCY VOCATIONAL 4 » The Panthers blew the game open, crossing seven runs in both the third and four innings on the way to a win over Mercy in the semifinal round of the Tri-County League playoffs.

Lena Felix finished 2-for-3 with a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning while Abbey Glavin was 3-for-4 with three runs scored as Perk racked up 14 hits on the win. Frances Del Toro had two hits and three runs scored hitting out of the leadoff spot while Julia Kelly (2-for-3, double) had two hits and two runs scored. Ally Brauchle pitched all five innings where she scattered four runs on eight hits and struck out eight.

Perk School will face Renaissanc­e Academy for the TCL Championsh­ip Tuesday.

Girls lacrosse

PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 17, KIMBERTON-WALDORF 3 » Anne Cby scored eight times and had an assist to lead the Panthers to a win over Kimberton-Waldorf in TCL play.

Carley Smith followed with four goals while Emalee and Rylee Walsh each added a pair of goals and an assist in the win.

Legion baseball

PERKIOMEN POST 5, LANSDALE 0 » Trey Livingston­e pitched a two-hitter as Perkiomen Post downed Lansdale in a Bux-Mont League matchup.

Livingston­e struck out seven and walked one in seven innings of work. Bryan Pijanowski was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
