Elizabeth Blanche Bunting

-

Elizabeth “Betty” Blanche Bunting, 92, formerly of South Coventry, passed away May 18, 2018, at Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown. She was the widow of Charles Harold Bunting, who died in 2001.

Born in Pottstown on October 22, 1925, Betty was the daughter of the late Georgeanna (Irwin) and Curtis Wilke. She was a 1944 graduate of Pottstown High School.

Betty was discharged from school early due to her high marks, and began work at Doehler Jarvis in 1943. She went on to work at Honeywell and eventually returned to Doehler’s. She later spent many years at the Thrift Drug Store at Coventry Mall, retiring in the mid1990’s.

Betty loved her gardens and could be seen daily working in her yard, planting flowers, tending her walking trails or raking leaves. Her legacy will be the beauty of nature that she left behind.

Surviving is a daughter, Lynn Gladieux, wife of Bernard Gladieux III of Boyertown, and grandchildren, Scott, Sarah and Sophia Gladieux. She is also survived by loving niece, Barbara Mackewicz of Pottstown, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by a son, Scott Charles Bunting, and brothers James, Robert, William, and sister, Frances.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staffs of Chestnut Knoll, Chestnut Knoll at Home, and Caring Hospice, who took such excellent and loving care of Betty.

A private memorial service will take place in June. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Chestnut Knoll Relay for Life team at 120 West 5th Street, Boyertown.
