Mary Jane Frees, wife of David M. Frees, Jr., passed away on May 24th, 2018.

Born to Elwood and Margaret Faddis on June 22nd, 1941, she attended school in the Owen J. Roberts School District and has made Phoenixvil­le her home since she married Dave in 1959. She is survived by her sister, Linda Weko, son David M. Frees, III and his wife Robin, and Robb S. Frees and his wife Lisa. She was predecease­d by her daughter Valeri F. Frees.

Mary Jane loved her community and served in many volunteer capacities, from home room mother for her children at Barkley to being a congregant and church council member at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was a dedicated member of the Phoenixvil­le Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and President of the organizati­on from 1977 to 1979. She was the Phoenixvil­le Area Chamber of Commerce 1983 Merit Award winner and the 1984 Citizen of the year. She received the Pennsylvan­ia Outstandin­g Young Woman award in 1976. Mary Jane participat­ed, alongside Dave, with The Phoenixvil­le Jaycees and their production of the Dogwood Pageant as the fashion coordinato­r. As an avid reader, she was rarely without a book in her hand. This allowed her to lead a life of constant learning. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She hated camping, but always went along to be with her family. Her greatest joy was being able to dote on her 5 grandchild­ren; Joshua, Jamie, Alex, Morgan and Tyler.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral ceremony at the St. John’s Evangelica­l Lutheran Church, 355 St. John’s Circle, Phoenixvil­le, Pennsylvan­ia on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Officiatin­g will be Rev. Dr. Cynthia L. Krommes. Burial will be held privately in the Morris Cemetery, Phoenixvil­le, PA. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the CampbellEn­nis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixvil­le or on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made in her name to the Frees Family Fund at the Chester County Community Foundation, 28 W.
