204 Church St., is having a special presentation on First Friday, June 1, at 7 p.m. Dr. Louis Beccaria, president/CEO of the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, will discuss the importance of philanthropy and volunteerism to communities. He will discuss and draw from his experiences in working with charitable and nonprofit organizations and will share anecdotes from his book, “My Journey in Philanthropy.” The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can also enjoy the historical society’s current exhibit.

Activities include Elmwood Park Zoo on Wheels from 1 to 3 p.m., amphitheater ribbon cutting and performances by the Springer Studio at 2:30 p.m., raffle baskets, piñatas, inflatable obstacle course, toddler bounce house, crafts, games, food and more. Seminar times are 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tom Rutter, a Veterans Affairs (VA) accredited claims agent, will explain an eldercare benefit offered by VA that can reduce the cost of senior care for veterans and spouses. “Aid and Attendance” is a commonly used term for a little-known Veterans’ disability income, officially known as “Pension.” Seating is limited.
