James Shannon Jordan Jr., of Limerick and Scranton
James Shannon Jordan Jr., 79, of Limerick and Scranton, PA, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
He was the son of the late Dr. James Shannon Jordan and Mae O’Rourke Jordan.
Jim was predeceased by his son James Shannon Jordan III. He was the husband of Maryann (Greco) Jordan and is survived by his daughter Jennifer, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by two brothers, Dr. Arthur Jordan (Maryclaire) and Dr. Jerome Jordan (Marlene). He was predeceased by his brother, Dr. William Jordan (Carol) and his sister, Sheila Jordan Murray (Doug). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was a proud graduate of Villanova University. He began his career as a stockbroker on the New York Stock Exchange and continued as an investment advisor. Jim partnered with his brotherin-law, Doug Murray, as a restauranteur, owning the Columbia Restaurant and then converting the Phoenixville Train Station into the Columbia Station, a catering and event venue. He continued his career as a member of the Administrative team at Northeastern Eye Institute and served recently as the President and CEO of Framecrafters, an online Optical Company.
Jim was an avid sports fan and particularly liked watching Villanova football and basketball. He enjoyed many years boating on the Chesapeake Bay with his cousin, Dr. John Jordan, and his wife, Flory. He looked forward to spending time in Hilton Head and the Jersey Shore. Jim was known for his kindness, humor and generosity; his easy-going nature; and his love and dedication to his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, June 1, from 4:30 to 7:30pm, at the Cusick Funeral Home, 217 Jefferson Ave., Scranton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, with his cousin, Monsignor John Jordan officiating, Saturday, June 2, at 9:30am, at St. Peter’s Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave, Scranton. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Harding, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
