Boyertown romps Yardley Morrisvill­e, 12-0

Boyertown’s American Legion baseball team continued its weekend roll Saturday with a 12-0 romp over Yardley Morrisvill­e at Bear Stadium.

The Bears meshed the three-hit shutout pitching of Jared Waldman, Drew Hartman and Pat Wieand with an 11-hit offense featuring contributi­ons from nine players. They effectivel­y put the game out of their guests’ reach with three runs in the third inning, and four apiece in the fourth and sixth.

Hartman, coming on in relief of starter Waldman in the third, got the winning verdict. Wieand finished the game with three innings of one-hit, five-strikeout closing relief.

Caleb Harrison drove in three of Boyertown’s runs while Nolan Kline and Nick DiCiacco had two RBI apiece. Chris Davis and Stephen Clark each went 2-for-3, and Kline (2-for-2) also finished with multiple hits for the Bears, who were coming off a 7-0 victory over Hamburg Friday.

BOYERTOWN BEAR-CUBS 12, EXETER 1 » Tre Yesavage was a two-way star for the BearCubs, pitching and batting them to victory over Exeter in a Berks County League game shortened by the 10run rule.

Yesavage got the win on the mound, yielding just one hit and three walks in three innings. He racked up four strikeouts before Luke Moser took over for the final two frames, scattering three hits and two walks in his relief stint.

At the plate, Yesavage had two hits and two RBI. Tyler Hoffman drove in another three runs and Tre Diguglielm­o two, Chance Babb had another two hits and scored three runs. Brandon Shane added two hits and an RBI.
