If the fair funding formula were applied to the whole education budget, Pottstown would be able to cut taxes on our property, not raise them. Pennsylvania is the worst in the nation as far as funding our students fairly and equally. It’s absolutely terrible.

I live in West Pottsgrove and I would like to know why the police who we support dearly are not doing their job. There is a truck with a 25-foot gooseneck trailer parked on Elm Street just before Monroe Street. When you come down Monroe you can’t see unless you go out in the middle of the street and I almost got hit twice with cars coming up the street. This truck is parked there illegally now for two weeks. I hope nobody gets hurt, killed or maimed. Please ticket the truck.

Is there anything better that they can do with the money in the grants they get for the Borough of Pottstown? I just want to know why they’re putting bike lanes up all over the place? And another question I would like to know is why they’re making some of the streets now one way. Can’t you think of something better? A Pottstonian

If you think it’s bad now, wait till the tariffs kick in. Ask the farmers in the central part of the United States. They’ve already lost $20 to 30 billion on their crops because China and Mexico both said they were going to go to South America to buy their crops. So where does that leave the central part of the United States and the farmers? Dry. And Trump said he’s going to take care of them. Think about that in November.

I disagree with Bob from Phoenixville. Forcing terrorists to watch tapes of President Trump and Fox News would not get them to talk. All that would do is turn them into Republicans. Logical Bob

I see where Trump is now in the habit of pardoning criminals. He is definitely sending a message to anyone being investigated by Mueller that there is no need to worry, just keep your mouth shut and there will be no prison term for you because he will pardon them as well. This is like having the godfather of the American Mafia living in the White House. This guy needs to either be impeached or voted out in the next presidential election or we’ll all be doomed.

Jeff Sessions our attorney general was the first to support Trump for president. Trump had said that Sessions was the greatest. When the investigation started, Sessions recused himself because of his involvement in the campaign. Trump went crazy saying he would not have appointed him. Now after a year Trump called Sessions down to Florida and demanded that he withdraw the recuse which has never been done. What is Trump so worried about? DP

This is a comment to the person who called in about the hostess taking the elderly all the way to the back of the restaurant. That happens to us too. When I have my mom with me and they do that I just say “Excuse me my mom can’t walk that far can we just sit here in this empty booth?” And then they usually do. Good luck. I see where they’re building a new stadium at Boyertown. Well I see the taxes will go sky high. Why don’t they take some of that money from the assistant principals and the superintendent who makes $800 a day and the teachers that are getting this marvellous pension? Take it from them. I have respect for laws and authority but misuse of power is often abused by man. To think any agency is above that is blind. The evidence shown is alarming and won’t be ignored. Laws were created to keep government in check. The abuse of power throughout the last administration is quite disturbing and will be dealt with. Lady Di

As a senior citizen. I can’t comprehend why Facebook even exists but I’m trying to make new friends outside of Facebook but following the same principles. I tell passersby what I’ve eaten, what I’ve done and what I’m doing later. I give them a thumbs up and tell them I “like” them. I already have three people “following” me — two police officers and a psychiatrist.
