Gail Marie Pevzner of Upper Pottsgrove
Gail Marie (Ungrady) Pevzner, 66 of Upper Pottsgrove, PA, wife of Gordon Pevzner, passed away peacefully on Monday June 11, 2018 while in hospice care at Pottstown Hospital. Gail showed great courage and character in her 2½ year battle against Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Gail was born on January 6th, 1952 in Trenton, NJ.
She was predeceased by Father, Joseph Ungrady; Mother, Eleanor Ungrady (Stryker); and Timothy Ungrady, her brother.
In addition to her husband Gordon, Gail is survived by her daughter, Caitlin Pevzner; Step Mother, Myra Ungrady; and brothers Chris Ungrady and John Ungrady and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gail graduated from The Ohio State University in 1975 with a BA in French. Through additional studies at Ursinus College, she received her CPA certificate and worked in public accounting and then as CFO for Prospectus Berco, a nonprofit that provides services for adults with disabilities.
She loved to travel, spending many happy moments in Europe, the Caribbean, the Jersey Shore, and in January of 2017 a cruise around the islands of Hawaii.
Gail was an avid reader, would solve the Sunday New York Times crosswords before lunch, enjoyed cooking, tending to her plants and always with a ‘joie de vivre’. Gail’s death has left a big hole in the hearts of her family, friends, and colleagues. We are very grateful and privileged to have had Gail in our lives; a strong, compassionate, and gentle woman.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff at Pottstown Cancer Center, Phoenixville Hospital Rehab, Penn Medicine Therapy, and Season’s Hospice for their professionalism, care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Monday from 11:30 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
