First Presbyterian
Pottstown: The summer worship schedule begins on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. (childcare is provided) at First Presbyterian Church.
Centennial Lutheran
Kimberton: The sanctuary will be decorated with carnations that are purchased in honor or in memory of fathers during the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Centennial Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill Road.
Christ Lutheran
Barto: Pastor Kim Truebenbach, supply pastor, will lead the congregation in the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road.
St. Luke’s Lutheran
Obelisk: The Praise Service, led by the praise band Messenger, will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road. A Community Dinner will be held on Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited.
St. James Lutheran
Limerick: “Shipwrecked, Rescued by Jesus” Vacation Bible School starts on Monday. Preschool classes are from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Gilbertsville: “The Blackwood Gospel Quartet, award-winning singers from Knoxville, Tennessee, will be ministering as guest musicians at the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at the Tri-County Bible Church, 142Buchert Road. St. Luke Lutheran
Gilbertsville: The Rev. Ray Miller is welcomed as supply pastor on Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave. The softball team will play a home game Sunday evening with Immaculate Conception, Birdsboro. The senior breakfast group will meet at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at Saville’s. The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday for distribution.
St. John’s UCC
Pottstown: Father’s Day will be celebrated at the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ. Dress is casual and all are welcome. Shepherd of the Hills
Bechtelsville: A Father’s Day car wash will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansville Road. The SOTH Relay for Life team is accepting donations of specific food items for use in the team’s food tent. Contact the church for specific items needed.
Grace Lutheran
Pottstown: In honor of Father’s Day and Mother’s Day, a collection will be taken at Sunday’s service at Grace Lutheran Church, 660 N. Charlotte St., for KenCrest Lutheran Social Ministry Organization, providing for early learning and intervention, adult residential, supported living and youth/ adult employment as well as developmental programs.
Zion’s UCC
Pottstown: Heifer Sunday will be observed at the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. There will be an offering for Heifer International which helps 25 million families lift themselves out of hunger and poverty. They receive flocks of geese and ducks, sheep, irrigation pumps and other animals which will greatly improve theirs lives and those of other families as they share first-born animals. Heifer trains people in sustainable farming, helps families and empowers women. Richard Smoker will serve as guest organist. Church volunteers will prepare and serve the community meal at noon on Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Vacation Bible School preparations continue as Zion’s will serve as host church from June 24 to 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Adult Sunday School continues through the summer at 9 a.m. All are welcome. There will be no Sunday School for the children for the summer.
St. Paul’s UCC
Pottstown: Church members from St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. Franklin St., will be preparing and serving the Community Meal held at First Presbyterian Church, Pottstown, on Thursday. The church will be participating in Community Vacation Bible School (VBS) from June 24 to 28, hosted by Zion’s UCC, 209 Chestnut St. Other Pottstown churches participating are Christ Episcopal Church, First Baptist Church and Trinity UCC. Registration forms are being accepted for pre-school through 6th grade (completed in 201718). This year’s theme is “Splash Canyon.” The free VBS will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with a snack during the evening. Contributions are being collected for our mission, which is the Schuylkill River Greenways NHA for their work to preserve, protect and promote
the Schuylkill River and its greenways.
Coventryville UMC
Pottstown: The finale of the “Shipwrecked” Vacation Bible School will be celebrated during the 11 a.m. service on Sunday at Coventryville United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Ridge Road. The service will feature songs and lessons learned during VBS and a video of the week with the children. The ladies group, The OWLS, will hold their monthly meeting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. The meeting will be followed by a covered dish luncheon. All ladies are welcome.
Brownback’s UCC
Spring City: The men in the congregation will be celebrated on Sunday at 8:45 a.m. with the annual Father’s Day Breakfast in Fellowship Hall at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road. This is a free event for all, please contact the church office with the number in your family that will be attending. Following breakfast will be the 10 a.m. Worship Service in the newly renovated Sanctuary. Social Hour will be held after the service in Fellowship Hall.
St. Peter’s Lutheran Pottstown: Father’s Day will be celebrated at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. Holy Communion services on Sunday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St. The Senior Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Greshville Inn, Route 562, Greshville.
Mount Carmel UMC
St. Peters: A Men’s Fellowship Breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. today at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyville Road. First UCC
Royersford: Summer Worship Schedule will begin on Sunday at 10 a.m. at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St. Rev. Wanda Craner will be the guest pastor. A special Father’s Day pancake breakfast will be hosted by the Church Women after worship. There will be a Royersford National Night Out planning meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
East Vincent UCC
Spring City: Father’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday at East Vincent United Church of Christ, 282 Hill Church Road. Pastor John Holsey is the guest preacher at the 8:30 a.m. Worship service.
