Vandalism most reported crime

Incidents of vandalism were reported 13 times to borough police last week, according to an online crime site.

POTTSTOWN » Vandalism was the most reported crime in Pottstown over the last week.

According to crimemappi­ng.com, a police-run website used to inform the public about crime in their area, vandalism was reported 13 times over the past week. Those incidents included two cases of criminal mischief to buildings on the 400 block of North Charlotte Street as well as three cases of criminal mischief to buildings on the 400 block of Spruce Street. Criminal mischief to vehicles was reported three times on the 300 block of Chestnut Street, once on the 500 block of Beech Street, the 200 block of Rowan Alley, the 400 block of North Charlotte Street and the 400 block of Spruce Street. An additional incident involving criminal mischief was also reported on Libert Alley.

Drug and alcohol violations were the second most reported crime in Pottstown over the past week. Since June 12, seven incidents have been reported involving drugs or alcohol. Public drunkennes­s was reported three times including incidents on North Franklin Street, High Street and the 200 block of Glasgow Street. One drug sale was reported on the 400 block of High Street and three cases of possession were reported on the 300 block of North Washington Street and the 100 block of Shoemaker Road.

Incidents of disturbing the peace occurred five times over the past week with three cases of harassment reported on the 300 block of North Charlotte Street, Walnut Street and East High Street. Disorderly conduct was reported on North Franklin Street and High Street.

Theft and assault were each reported four times over the past week. Three non-aggravated assaults were reported on the 800 block of North Evans Street, Hillside Drive and the 1100 block of Queen Street. An assault involving hands, feet and fists occurred on East high Street. Four thefts from buildings were reported on North Franklin Street, the 900 block of South Street, the 1600 block of East High Street and West King Street.

Two frauds were reported on the 700 block of Willow Street and the 100 block of King Street while burglary, robbery and vehicle thefts were all reported once. A robbery was reported on Penn Street while a vehicle theft occurred on the 1400 block of Sunset Drive. A burglary involving forced entry was reported on the 700 block of Farmington Avenue.
