Boyertown is raising school taxes by 5.4 percent. All my fellow seniors and homeowners need to call your state Rep. Marcy Toepel and explain to her that if something isn’t done by November she will be history as far as Harrisburg goes as will Quigley, Mensch, Rafferty and any others who are not doing anything about the property tax issue. People, we’ve got to get serious. If these people can’t do the job we need to get them out and get other people in that can do the job.

I want to personally thank the Gulati family for purchasing the YMCA building and giving the YMCA a chance to rent from them for some of us senior citizens.

Shame on Donald Trump separating families and putting young children in prison-like conditions then blaming the Democrats just because he wants a wall and Mexico won’t pay for it. He is using children as pawns. Does anyone believe that Donald Trump is a role model? Would you want your child to learn his behaviors and to practice them?

Commendations are due to the residents of the 200 block of North Walnut Street in Boyertown. I viewed 15 beautiful American flags which are displayed by the residents daily and that looks wonderful. They augment the Lions “Fly the Flag” program that is done on six holidays during each year but theirs are always up. Congratulations. Jim Tribbett

It’s starting to get really hot now, so please do not leave your beloved pet in the car. Per the SPCA, with windows cracked your pet could die within 10 minutes. It’s now a crime so you can call 911 and the police can legally break the window and if your pet has to go to the vet you have to pay for all of it. Leave your pet home. It’s just common sense.

Enough of these White House briefings every day by Sanders. All these reporters ask the same questions over and over again. Why don’t real reporters go over there from news Channels 3, 6, 9, 10, 15, real reporters to ask different questions by each one?

I see Meek Mill is trying to get another trial. I hope he gets another trial and I hope they convict him and this time put him in jail and throw the key away. That guy all he wants to do is break the law and violate the probation that he gets for breaking the law. So he thinks he’s above the law. Just throw the key away and let him sit there.

Will you please, please do something about these kids that are being taken away from their mothers? This is horrible. We’re better than this. We’re American. This has got to stop because if you look into history the Germans did it. They did it with the Japanese. These are kids my God. Somebody’s got to do something please.

Our country doesn’t help our senior citizens. No raise in Social Security, no help in paying school taxes, but they want to bring all these immigrants in who are illegals and give them everything for free — food, housing and medical care. This certainly is not fair in our country. Joan

Jay Miller, I hate to break your bubble but the pictures of those children in cages were under your buddy Obama’s rules not President Trump so get your facts straight. And why aren’t you outraged and saying it’s barbaric with abortion with babies being ripped out of their mothers womb right up to nine months? That’s what Hillary Clinton and the liberals are all for but I guess that’s not considered barbaric to you. Shame on you.

You know Lady Di what I’m tired of? Your hypocrisy as a Christian. You do not hesitate to dictate your Christian values to others. There are laws of morality and decency at play here as well. Maybe you think they only apply to the unborn and American children, no they apply to all children. Ask yourself what would Jesus have done? Certainly not this. You keep telling us this country is being torn apart from within. Maybe you should examine your own heart to understand why.

I would like feedback on anyone who has neighbors who clutter up their property with junk devaluing the property value in that neighborhood and what we can do to pressure our governing taxpayer boards to help clean up our townships and borough.
