Davis S. Loomis of Elverson

Davis S. Loomis, age 94, husband of the late Jean I. (Pursel) Loomis, of Elverson, PA, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at home.

Born on February 24, 1924 in Nantmeal Township, he was a son of the late Davis and Deborah (Smith) Loomis. Mr. Loomis was a graduate of Warwick High School, and served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked as a carpenter, a job he took pride in. In his free time, he built homes for his family. He would work nights and weekends, always helping others with building and home improvement projects.

Mr. Loomis is survived by two daughters, Daria L., wife of Eugene E. Sweitzer and Darla R., wife of Brad Loughin, both of Elverson, PA; two granddaughters, Shana R., wife of Todd Kennedy and Shara J., wife of Jason Swinehart; two greatgrandchildren, Chase Davis Kennedy and Marloh Joyce Swinehart; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy, Lulu, Anna, and Grace, and four brothers, C. Ray, Edward P., Robert, and Russell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service at the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2203 Harmonyville Road, Saint Peters, PA on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 11:00 am.
