Susbtance violations top borough crime
Seven incidents involving drug or alcohol violations were reported to borough police since June 19.
POTTSTOWN » Substance violations were the most reported crime in Pottstown over the past week.
According to crimemapping.com, a police-website used to inform the public about crime in their area, seven incidents involving drug or alcohol violations were reported since June 19. Four cases of drug possession were reported on the 600 block of Chestnut Street, the 300 block of Rowan Alley, Farmington Avenue and North Adams Street. Additionally, public drunkenness was reported on the 100 block of East High Street, the 300 block of East High Street and the 700 block of Farmington Avenue.
Disturbing the peace and vandalism were each reported four times over the past week. Three incidents involving criminal mischief to vehicles were reported on Rowan Alley, 400 block of South Street and the 200 block of North Charlotte Street. One incident involving criminal mischief to buildings occurred on West Fifth Street. Three cases of harassment were reported on the 200 block of Shoemaker Road, the 400 block of Elm Street and the 300 block of Jefferson Street, along with one incident of disorderly conduct on the 400 block of East High Street.
Assault and DUI were each reported three times over the past week. Two nonaggravated assaults were reported on Chestnut Street and South Penn Street along with an assault involving a knife on the 1200 block of Queen Street. DUIs were reported on West King Street, the 1500 block of East High Street and Shoemaker Road.
Vehicle break-ins, thefts, prostitution, burglary and fraud were each reported once since June 19. A vehicle break-in was reported on Chestnut Street while a retail theft occurred on the 200 block of Shoemaker Road. Prostitution was reported on East High Street along with a burglary on the 100 block of North Adams Street. One case of fraud was reported on the 200 block of North Charlotte Street.
