It was Chris Sparacino’s turn to shine on the mound.

He made the most of the time Friday, pitching Spring City’s American Legion baseball team to a 10-0 victory over Westtown.

Sparacino’s solid shutout hurling saw him scatter five hits and strike out two. He was backed by a Spring City plate attack that put the game out of Westtown’s reach by scoring seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to pad its 3-0 lead.

Coy Walters swung the hottest bat for the Sox, collecting four RBI off 2-for-4 hitting that featured a home run in the fifth.

Brad Clemens chipped in with a 2-for-3 and one RBI. Other runs in the fifth were plated by Kasey Caras, Andrew Huang and J.C. Reed. BOYERTOWN 5, TWIN VALLEY 1 » Tate Yergey and Billy Coleman swung the big bats for the Bears as they handled Twin Valley in Berks County League action.

Both Yergey and Coleman went 2-for-3, with Coleman driving in one run. Collecting other RBI were Shayn Horrocks, Caleb Harrison and Broc Babb.

Nolan Kline was the winning pitcher for Boyertown. Kline’s complete-game outing saw him scatter four hits and yield a seventh-inning run, striking out two along the way. PERKIOMEN 6, DOYLESTOWN 2 » Justin Wornham plated two of Perkiomen Post’s six first-inning runs — a burst that proved sufficient to secure the Bux-Mont League victory over Doylestown.
