Center Amir Johnson re-signs with Philadelph­ia

Amir Johnson is going back to the Philadelph­ia 76ers for at least one more season.

A person with knowledge of the negotiatio­ns said Wednesday that Johnson has agreed to a oneyear contract with Philadelph­ia that could become official as soon as Friday, when the NBA’s offseason moratorium on player movement ends.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because of that moratorium.

The 6-foot-9 Johnson was primarily a reserve for the 76ers last season, when he averaged 4.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Philadelph­ia is the fourth club for the 31-year-old, who will be entering his 14th NBA season this fall.

It’s only fitting since he was drafted by the 76ers.

The team announced Wednesday that the 6-4 guard from Wichita State who was taken with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft. No terms were disclosed, as per team policy.

Shamet averaged 14.9 points, 5.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 31.7 minutes per game as a redshirt sophomore for the Shockeres. He led the American Athletic Conference in assists (166), was second in 3-point field goal percentage (44.2) and was fourth in free-throw percentage (82.5).

Shamet will play for the 76ers summer league team in Las Vegas. Their first of three games is Friday night against the Boston Celtics at the Thomas and Mack Center. Tipoff is 7:30 and the game will be broadcast on ESPN. Guard Zhaire Smith, whom the team acquired in a draftday trade with the Phoenix Suns for the rights to No. 10 pick Mikal Bridges out of Villanova, also is on the summer league roster.
