James ‘Mole’ Mullen, 71, of Gilbertsville

James “Mole” Mullen, 71, of Gilbertsville, husband of Laurie (Hunsicker) Mullen, passed away Monday July 2, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest.

Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late Richard and Margaret (Uhrich) Mullen.

James served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a letter carrier for branch 542 Norristown Post Office. He was a member of NALC.

He was most recently a Pottstown area school district school van driver.

James enjoyed fishing and had a passion for VW Bugs. He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. His family will fondly remember celebrating the Eagles Super Bowl victory with him.

Surviving along with his wife are three sons: James Derek Mullen husband of Becky of San Diego, Christian Shane Mullen fiancé of Jennalyn Villafuerte of Los Angeles, and Michael Mudra husband of Shannan of Gillett; one daughter Sara McGuckin wife of Corey of Gilbertsville; three grandchildren Logan and Makenzie Mudra, and Skylar McGuckin; one brother Richard Mullen husband of Alberta; one sister Kathleen Lewis wife of James; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, James was predeceased by his brother David Mullen.

A memorial service will be held Friday July 6, 2018 at 12:30 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 AM-12:15 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James’ memory to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
