Perkiomen Post’s American Legion baseball team closed out its regular season at home Tuesday with a 4-0 loss to Quakertown.

But it will get at least one more outing at Upper Perkiomen High’s Bonekemper Field when the BuxMont League playoffs commence Thursday.

Finishing as the number-four seed in the bracket, Perkiomen (11-8-1) guaranteed itself the home date. Its first-round opponent figures to be either Pennridge or Plumstead, both of whom went 9-10-1 in the regular season.

The league’s playoffs will be hosted by the higher seed for the first two days of action. The play will then move to Quakertown’s Memorial Stadium for the remainder of the tourney, which will see two league teams advance to the Pa. Region Two tournament at Muhlenberg.

Quakertown finished its regular season with a 13-7 record good for third place in the standings. Hatfield-Towamencin and Souderton both went 17-3 in the regular season, but HT became the BuxMont’s regular-season champion on the tiebreaker of lesser number of runs yielded in their head-tohead action, which saw them split.
