William “Bill” Tyson, 85, of Boyertown, Colebrookd­ale Twp., husband of Elizabeth (Mohn) Tyson, passed away on Sunday, July 8, at his home.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Chester and Isabel (Fox) Tyson.

Bill grew up on a small dairy farm in East Coventry Township. He graduated from the former North Coventry High School in 1950 and went on to attend Penn State College.

Bill then enlisted into the Army, after which he became employed at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He worked there and later in Perryville, MD, for about 25 years and finished out his career with Occidental Chemical Company for 14 additional years. He retired in 1996.

Bill loved the outdoors, hunting and gardening.

Surviving with his wife of 57 years are children Tammy Lines and Glen Tyson; grandchild­ren Julie Frank and Steve Lines, Brantley Tyson, and Brianna Tyson; 8 grandchild­ren and sisters Virginia Ulsh and Jean White. He is predecease­d by his son John Tyson and sister Mary Esther Hetrick.

A funeral service will be Friday, July 13, 2:00 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown. Burial will be in East Coventry Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00PM to 1:45PM.
