Woman injured in motorcycle crash

UPPER PROVIDENCE » Upper Providence Township Police responded to the scene of a serious accident Wednesday that left one woman injured.

The crash occurred at Ridge Pike and Township Line Road Wednesday afternoon. Police at the scene said a female motorcycli­st traveling east on Ridge Pike lost control as she turned north on to Township Line Road and skidded into a curb, knocking her from the bike.

Police confirmed that the woman is a correction­s officer at Graterford State Correction­al Institutio­n. She was flown to a Philadelph­ia Trauma Center by JeffSTAT medical helicopter for treatment of her injuries.

Limerick police and Trappe Fire Company assisted at the scene.
