Pottstown: The Sacrament of Holy Baptism will be celebrated during the 9:30 a.m. worship on Sunday at First Presbyteri­an Church. Barto: Special music will be presented by Kassidy McChessney, granddaugh­ter of a member of the congregati­on, during the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road. Those who are interested

in family camping at the Congo Road Open Space are invited to contact the Fioriglio’s to make arrangemen­ts. The outdoor worship service followed by the church picnic will be held on Sunday, July 22, at the Congo Road Open Space. Light refreshmen­ts begin at 9 a.m. followed by worship at 9:30 a.m.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

Obelisk: The Praise Service, led by the praise band Messenger, will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road. A Community Dinner will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited.

St. James Lutheran

Limerick: New members will be received and welcomed during worship services on Sunday at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road.

St. Peter’s Lutheran

Pottstown: The Reverend George Harpel is welcomed as guest pastor on Sunday

for the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St. Vocal Soloist, Sandra Levengood, will sing. The Seniors Luncheon will be at the Exeter Family Restaurant, Exeter, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

St. Luke Lutheran

Gilbertsvi­lle: The softball team from St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave., has an away game Sunday evening against Faith Bible Fellowship. Scout Troop #36 will attend summer camp next week. The Senior Breakfast Group will meet at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at Saville’s Restaurant. The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 9 a.m. until noon on Wednesday for distributi­on.

Shepherd of the Hills

Bechtelsvi­lle: An Eagle Scout ceremony will be held for Zachary Rath of Scout Troop #291 at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansvi­lle Road. A team of youth and adults will depart on Sunday for a

week-long mission trip to Easton. Those participat­ing are Kristin Gross, Dylan Houck, Jahkari Korchowsky, Rachael Smith, Rebekah Smith, Sarah Smith, Ali Young, Lucas Hahn, Julie Korchowsky, Nick Korchowsky and Tara Wilson.

Grace Lutheran

Pottstown: “Who are my neighbors and what are their needs?” Members of Emmanuel, Grace, St. James, and St. Peters Lutheran churches will meet Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Emmanuel’s airconditi­oned sanctuary at 150 N. Hanover St. to hear panel presentati­ons from community representa­tives about past and prospectiv­e changes in Pottstown, and to answer questions from the audience. All are welcome.

First UCC

Royersford:, The 10 a.m. Summer Worship Service will take place in the Social Hall at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St. Kathy Bieski will be playing the piano. Personal Care items are being collected for Project Outreach.

Brownback’s UCC

Spring City: The Adult Handbell Choir will be providing special music at the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road. Following the Service, all are invited to Fellowship Hall for Social Hour hosted by Linda Raifsnider.

Mount Carmel UMC

St. Peters: Reverend Barry Moyer will be delivering the message at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyvil­le Road. He will be available after the service for questions. Refreshmen­ts will be served after the service. Everyone is welcome.

First Baptist

Pottstown: Rev. Dr. Marilyn P. Turner-Triplett will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday at First Baptist Church, Charlotte and King streets. She is director of Community Ministries for the American Baptist Home Mission Societies and currently directs the Rizpah’s Children Initiative of American Baptist Home Mission Societies in

Valley Forge. The initiative seeks to create a network of community outreach ministries that provide long-term solutions to the complex challenges faced by children affected by poverty. Turner-Triplett also serves as an associate minister at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Springhous­e. All are welcome.

Zion’s UCC

Pottstown: JoAnn Keenan will be guest organist at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets, at the 10:15 a.m. worship service on Sunday. She serves as choir and orchestra director at New Life Bible Fellowship in Oley and is also a full time professor at Reading Community College in Business. Ping Pong and Pizza will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

SALEM UMC

Pottstown: All are welcome to greet the new pastor of Salem United Methodist Church, 335 West St., Pastor Etta McCall, on Sunday. Guest organist will be Richard Smoker for the next three weeks.
