Stopped at a red light on Charlotte Street and I watched a squirrel cross the street and the whole time it stayed within the pavement crosswalk. That made me think of two things. Number one, thanks Pottstown for spending all that money for the new lines on the street for squirrels and, number two, maybe parents in Pottstown should bring their kids out to watch the squirrels so they know what the lines are for.

In Douglass (Mont.) with all the new developments that will be coming along Route 100 and Market Street coming out on Route 73 from Grosser Road the roads now are quite congested when Zerns Market is open. Just think what it’s going to be like when all these new developments are completed. What will the roads be like on a daily basis in Gilbertsville? Let’s not forget about all these new housing developments too. Supervisors, when is all this building going to stop? Concerned Taxpayer

The Democratic Party appears to be going the way of socialism. How much in taxes would you think would be a fair amount to pay — 50 percent, 60 percent, 70 percent? Think about it.

Remember some years ago when Khrushchev banged his shoe on the table and said that the U.S. will be taken from within? Well look out baby because we’re being taken from within. So here we go. God bless America.

Trump has planes repossessed, yachts repossessed, bankruptcies, casinos repossessed, refuses to pay his contractors and he’s at NATO telling them to pay their bills. Hypocritical to me. Jay Miller

A correction to a previous Sound Off: Even in heaven there is a wall, a gate and extreme vetting.

I have a comment about the person who thinks that under the Constitution everybody has rights to come into this country. It seems like the only person who doesn’t have rights in this country is the working middle class who basically has to shoulder all the responsibility paying for all this nonsense opening the borders up and letting just anybody and everybody come in and take over.

I saw in Sound Off a comment about a project being done and it said it wasn’t being paid for with tax dollars, it was being funded by the federal government. Where do you think they get their money? It’s tax dollars out of the federal government. We all pay income taxes and that’s what the money goes for, these stupid projects. Whether it’s local taxes or federal, it’s tax dollars.

Food stamp enrollments fell to an eight-year low as the economy improves and the Trump administration clamps down on fraud in the program. All it takes is good business leadership.

I saw that Chick-fil-A was giving away free food on July 10 if you were dressed like a cow. They serve chicken. Chicken comes from chickens, not cows.

I really get a chuckle when I see all the folks, all the Trump haters, that have signs on their lawns that say “No home for hate here.” This is the Democrats, the party of Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer, the greatest haters of all time.

When it comes to Donald Trump even Jesus shakes his head no. What a sorry man he is. All you have to do is listen to him speak and that tells you he might have money but he really isn’t that smart. Night Light

So Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court believes that there should be limits on investigating the president. In other words he should be allowed to break the law.

Hey world, especially Mexico, our borders are closed. Everybody stay in our own country and take care of their own country and we’ll take care of our country. All of a sudden everybody wants to come here and then they don’t want to pay the taxes or the Social Security that we have to pay into so why would you let them in? I say build a wall.

People seem not to realize that when you get a federal grant you have to use that money the way they say for you to use it. You cannot take it and pay for fireworks or the Keim Street Bridge. The bridge is not all of Pottstown’s. It also belongs to Coventry. So if they’re willing to kick in money perhaps Pottstown will be willing to kick in money also but not federal money because you have to pay that back and you get fined for not using it the way you’re supposed to.

Hey PJ, these days being a Democrat is nothing to be proud of.

I told my bride that since we’ve both retired we are only one step from living like rich people. Now all we need is money. Jim Fitch
