Nieda M. Berkey, 93, of Pottstown

1924-2018

Nieda M. Berkey, age 93, wife of the late Kenneth R. Berkey, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Manatawny Manor. Born on October 30, 1924 in Stowe, PA, she was a daughter of the late Wayne and Helen (Reinert) Kulp.

Mrs. Berkey retired after 40 years from the Stanley G. Flagg Co. in Stowe in 1987, where she had achieved the honor of acceptance into the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of the Linfield United Church of Christ, as well as the Humane Fire Company and the West End Fire Company auxiliaries. She enjoyed crocheting.

Mrs. Berkey is survived by one stepdaughter, Sandra, wife of the late Richard Fetterman Sr.; one nephew, William Jr., husband of Ditas Kulp of Durham, NC; one niece, Linda, wife of the late Richard Benchoff of Green Castle, PA; several greatnieces and nephews; one grandson, Don, husband of Risa Geihsler; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by three siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Old Schuylkill Road at Saylors Mill Road, Pottstown, PA on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Chaplin Michael J. Sullivan. It is requested that those in attendance dress casually and comfortable due to the weather.
