Substance violations, assault lead crime in Pottstown

POTTSTOWN » Substance violations and assault were the most reported crimes in Pottstown over the past week.

According to crimemappi­ng.com, a policerun website used to inform the public about crime in their area, assault and substance violations were each reported four times since July 10. Assaults were reported on the 300 block of King Street, the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue, the 500 block of King Street and the 400 block of South Street. Three cases of drug possession were reported on the 100 block of East High Street, the 200 block of King Street and East Third Street, along with one drug sale on the 400 block of East High Street.

Vehicle break-ins and harassment were each reported three times over the past week. Harassment was reported on the 500 block of Manatawny Street, the 100 block of North Franklin Street and Chestnut Street. Vehicle break-ins occurred on the 100 block of Walnut Street, Buttonwood Alley and the 800 block of Beech Street.

Theft, robbery and burglary were each reported once since July 10. A theft of auto parts was reported on the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue while a robbery involving a firearm occurred on North Keim Street. A burglary involving forced entry was reported on the 1200 block of Industrial Highway.
