Kimberton: During the education hour on Sunday, July 29, and Sunday, Aug. 26, at Centennial Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill Road, the topic will be a discussion of the forthcomin­g ELCA social statement on “Women and Social Justice.” Feedback from this discussion will be forwarded to the ELCA as they prepare their formal statement on this issue.

Limerick: Youth who attended the National Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas, will lead Sunday’s worship services. A presentati­on of the week’s activities in Houston will be included. Donations continue to be accepted for “Operation Smart Start” which provides backpacks for area school children.

Gilbertsvi­lle: “Bread Sundays” will be from Sunday until Sept. 2 at the 9:30 a.m. worship service at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave. Each week the Gospel focus is on Jesus as the Bread of Life, and featuring a liturgy with energetic and rhythmic world music. Our table will be spread with local wine and real bread. The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday for donations.

Shepherd of the Hills

Bechtelsvi­lle: The musical group, Behold the Beloved, will be guest worship leaders at the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansvi­lle Road. Zachary Rath of Troop #291 received his Eagle Scout award at the church on July 15.

St. Peter’s Lutheran

Pottstown: The Reverend Dr. Edward Neiderheis­er is welcomed as guest pastor on Sunday for the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St. An instrument­al duet will be played by Katlyn Levengood, saxophone, and Sandra Levengood, piano.

Royersford: Easter in July is being celebrated on Sunday during worship in the Social Hall at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St. Kathy Bieski will be playing the piano. Personal care items are still being collected for Project Outreach.

Pottstown: Today at 10:30 AM, BCCP Sisters in Spirit Women’s Ministry will meet in the Community Room at 10:30 a.m. today at Bethel Community Church of Pottstown, 575 N. Keim St. The guest speaker will be Kellie Miles, founder of Virtuous Woman Queens Lair. All women of the church and Pottstown are invited. It’s Evangelism/Outreach Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday with the Praise Power Choir singing. “Free Dishes” will once again be available to all in attendance. Summer Revival will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday for three nights with the Reverend LoVelle McMichael, pastor of Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Greensboro, N.C. All are welcome.

Pottstown: Robert Witmyer will perform the special music at the 10:15 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. His vocal solo will be “The Lord’s Prayer” with accompanim­ent by Rev. Mary Etta Mest. Pizza and Ping Pong will continue at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Pottstown: The Thrift Shop is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Coventryvi­lle United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Ridge Road. A church picnic will follow the 11 a.m. Worship Service on Sunday.

First Baptist

Pottstown: Rev. Dr. Patricia Murphy will be guest speaker at the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday at First Baptist Church, Charlotte and King streets. Rev. Murphy is making her second visit to the church. She is the director of Chaplaincy and Specialize­d Ministries for the American Baptist Home Mission Society and says that her previous roles as pastoral theologian, biomedical ethicist, chaplain, preacher and teacher were inspired by her inquisitiv­e nature. All are welcome.
