Barbara E. Hutchinson, 68, of Amity
Barbara E. (Guida) Hutchinson, 68, of Amity Twp., PA, passed away on July 26, 2018, at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center.
Born in Amsterdam, NY, she was the loving daughter of the late Edward J. and Rita C. (Phillips) Guida.
She now joins her late husband and love of her life, Robert L. “Hutch” Hutchinson in Heaven.
Barb was a wonderful and devoted mother to her 2 daughters, Jackie A., wife of Ray Price of Chuluota, FL., and Kelly N., wife of Patrick Gidich of West Chester, PA. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren; Sean Crosby, Caitlin Price, and Olivia Gidich; 2 brothers: Mark E. Guida of PA and David M. Guida of Douglassville, PA; 1 sister: Carolann Downey of CO; and numerous nieces and nephews, with whom she was very close. She is predeceased by her sister Judith Hacker.
She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and loved to plan and host family events. A favorite activity was playing cards, especially poker and pinochle. Barb was a snowbird who was very active on the social committee of her Florida community. She made a sport of searching for great deals at yard sales on the weekend.
She volunteered with Seniors Helping Seniors as a companion to the elderly. The most important thing to Barb was family. She and Bob spent the last 25 years faithfully attending all of their grandkids’ events. Barb was a strong and compassionate mother, and will always be a role model for Kelly, Jackie, Katie, Olivia, and Kim. Her dedication to her family brought everyone together.
Barb was a devout Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception BVM RC Church in Birdsboro, PA and St. Patrick’s RC Church in Mount Dora, FL.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at 5:30 PM at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 4:30 PM- 5:30 PM.
