Robby Wilding did a little bit of everything on Tuesday afternoon at Ram Stadium.

Wilding pitched a complete game, and helped himself with a hit and a pair of runs scored to lead the Spring City Junior Legion baseball team to a 4-2 win over Millcreek in the Pa. State Championship qualifying round.

Wilding struck out four, walked one and let up just six hits in his impressive outing on the mound. The righthander was tagged for a run in the top of the first inning and then for another in the top of the seventh.

At the dish, Wilding was 1-for-2 with two runs scored batting out of the leadoff spot while Jack Kisela finished with a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

The Red Sox’ offense combined for just three hits, but struck for runs in the second and third innings before scoring a pair on two wild pitches in the bottom of the fifth.

Noah Timpano was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Millcreek while Brandon Boehm had a hit and an RBI. Ryan Anen got the start and pitched into the fifth inning, but was tagged for four runs (three earned) on three hits and five walks.

With the result, Spring

City will now face West Lawn — a 7-6 winner over Murrysville — in the championship round today at Ram Stadium at 11 a.m. The Red Sox will need to win twice, while the Owls will need just one win to claim the title.

Trey Gehret picked up the mound win pitching in relief, holding Murrysville to just three hits and a walk across 4-1/3 innings of work.
