Police search for hit-and-run driver
AMITY » Police are looking for a driver after investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a homeowner’s property damaged.
On July 27 at approximately 6:46 a.m., Amity Police responded to a hit-andrun motor vehicle crash that had just been discovered. The owner reported a vehicle struck two large brick pillars at the end of his driveway. The pillars struck by the vehicle contained a video surveillance system and mailbox, according to police.
Responding officers discovered a large amount of debris that was scattered across the driveway as well as onto Limekiln Road, police said. There were several pieces of car parts that were collected including a Toyota Emblem, the insulation part to a front bumper, a gray/silver plastic piece of a car and possibly a bushing to a radiator. Investigators learned the parts belong to a older motel Toyota Corolla and the vehicle is possibly silver or gray. The vehicle should have front end damage and may be missing the front bumper.
Police said video surveillance is being collected from residences and businesses in the area.
A review of video surveillance indicates the crash occurred just before midnight on July 26. The vehicle was last seen traveling South on Limekiln Road towards 422 by Island Pizza.
Amity Township Police are looking for the driver and vehicle involved and are asking that anyone with information call Senior Patrol Officer Brian Devlin at 610-689-6002.
