What’s wrong with this picture? I watched a 20ish couple walking down the grocery aisle with a cart full of young kids with mostly all junk food feeding the kids potato chips to keep them quiet while they talked on their smart phones that I only wish I could afford and then they paid with WIC checks and food stamps while they showed off their new tattoos to the cashier. This is the future of our country.

Looks like the seniors are getting ripped off again. A death certificate used to cost $6. Now it’s up to $20. We can’t afford to live and we can’t afford to die.

Shouldn’t our government representatives in Harrisburg be monitoring how the tax dollars they send to our public schools is being spent and how in way too many cases we are getting pathetic results? If they are monitoring poor performing schools let’s hope they bring about positive changes in those schools before some of these school districts are financially and educationally bankrupt.

In 1964 the minimum wage was five silver quarters. In 2015 five silver quarters would have had a melt value of $15.15. We don’t need to raise the minimum wage. We need to fix the money. We need to call your congressmen and women and end the federal reserve system that’s causing this inflation. Sanatoga Paul Revere

It’s finally about time that all the news channels drop those four scales they use for the people watching the weather. We could care less about the scales. Just say whether it’s going to rain or snow and just give us your opinion how much we’re going to get. Drop those scales, they’re a waste of time, useless to put up and no one cares to see them or hear what those models show. It’s about time news got back to news and stop adding things.

To all you readers, I have a very important question to ask you. How many children do you know that were asked to be conceived and born? Night Light

Stacy Woodland has suggested that students of color not be disciplined at levels disproportional to their numbers in the classroom. Such formulaic applications of “disparate impact” are designed to ignore reality. In education, this statistical slight of hand effectively imposes disruptive burdens on the vast majority of students — black, white and brown — who are not disciplinary problems. Mark Furlong

Can somebody tell me whose responsibility it was in 2016 to protect the American people from Russian cyber attacks? Whose responsibility was it to take care of that?

This is to the ones who commented “Think about what I said” and to “How much worse can it get.” Well, I’ll tell you what, put the Democrats back in power and let them open up the borders and put them on Welfare and in 10 years when you find out that Social Security is broke then you can say “Did I vote the right way?” But it’ll be too late then. JB, Gilbertsville

How can people be so naive about the Russian hacking after 12 Russians have been indicted for doing exactly that? Jay Miller

The other day I received the infamous phone call from the IRS giving me 24 hours before the local police would come. It was listed on the phone ID as 516-303-8331 from Manhasset, N.Y.

To the person that keeps insisting that Tiger is back, this past weekend he was way, way back at the Bridgestone Invitational finishing two over; the winner was 15 under. If my math is correct that’s 17 strokes behind the winner. Congrats to Justin Thomas.

So who was paid off to allow work to resume on this nasty Mariner 2 pipeline? Vile

Responding to the caller who claims that the reason the illegal aliens are crossing the Southern border is the high murder rate in Mexico or wherever they’re coming from, you know what, that’s not our problem. If Mexico has a high murder rate let Mexico take care of their own problems, we have enough of our own. If you want to be a bleeding heart liberal you do that but just stay out of my wallet in the process.

This is a comment on the students that want to start school late because they need more rest time. When you get out in the real world make sure your new employer knows that you want to start an hour late because you’re tired especially on Monday mornings, and also for break time you want at least 30 minutes to rest too. I think that sounds kind of fair. Let’s see how long you stay employed with them. Lassie

I‘m still laughing over Jim Fitch’s formula for inner peace. I decided to try it. Jim, can you possibly come over to the state police barracks and please bring bail money?
