Bethel UMC

Spring City: Susan Ferry, Christian Dragon Racer, will be the guest speaker on Sunday at Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road. She has been a member of the Schuylkill Dragons Dragon Boat team since 2012, which is one of the Premier Women teams of Philadelph­ia. They participat­ed in the Club Crew World Championsh­ips in Szeged, Hungary, in July. She was selected for the Grand Master boat, which is women over 50-yearsold. United Methodist Churches in Puerto Rico are still struggling to rebuild following last summer’s hurricanes. Mission ConneXion is trying to help them. A gathering will be hosted at 4 p.m. on Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Phoenixvil­le for an update on how things are going from people who have been there. A free will offering will be received toward the effort. Afterward, there will be light refreshmen­ts along with the classic Bogart and Bacall movie, “Key Largo.”

Kimberton: All are welcome to attend an Education Hour following the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Centennial Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill Road. Participan­ts will have the opportunit­y to meet in a small group to discuss the vision of the church.

Christ Lutheran

Barto: . Bridge Pastor David Penman will be leading the congregati­on in the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road. During the service, quilts made by the quilters that will be going to veterans will be blessed. The Evangelism committee is sponsoring their first “Did you Jesus Today?” event at the Moser Farm at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday. We will hike/bike/wagon ride to “Eden.” Members will join the surroundin­g community at the Keystone-Miller blood drive that will be held on Thursday from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Calvary UCC, Route 100, Bechtelsvi­lle.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

Obelisk: A free Community Dinner will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on

Thursday at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road. All are welcome.

Brownback’s UCC

Spring City: All are welcome to remain after the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road, for Social Hour in Fellowship Hall, hosted by Linda Bauer.

St. James Lutheran

Limerick: Members of St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road, will pack backpacks between worship services on Sunday. The backpacks will be filled with school supplies which will be distribute­d to children in area schools. This project, “Operation Smart Start,” gets the new school year off to a good start for the children.

St. Peter’s Lutheran

Pottstown: Charles Wagg will be the guest soloist at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services on Sunday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St. The Seniors Luncheon will be at the Douglassvi­lle Hotel, Douglassvi­lle, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The Shawl Ministry, Threads of Compassion Meeting will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the

church parlor to complete the knitted or crocheted shawls.

First UCC

Royersford: The Men’s Breakfast Club from First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St., will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Spring-Ford Diner. Fellowship follows the 10 a.m. worship service with Mr. Alaa Fadel speaking about what it means to be a modern Muslim.

St. Luke Lutheran

Gilbertsvi­lle: Today is the brunch for new members of St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave., from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Other Farm and Forge in Boyertown. Sunday is New Member Sunday. Donna Biehl is welcomed to the fellowship of the church. Church members will attend the Fightin Phils Game Sunday evening. The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 9 a.m. until noon on Wednesday for distributi­on. The Sr. Breakfast Group will meet for a picnic on Thursday at the church in Memorial Hall.

Bechtelsvi­lle: H2O youth from Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansvi­lle Road, are planning a miniature golf outing at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

First Baptist

Pottstown: Rev. Dr. Deborah Winters will be guest speaker at the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday at First Baptist Church, Charlotte and King streets. Rev. Winters lives in Reinholds and cofounded God’s Precious Children, helping children in need get a better chance at a brighter future through an education. She is welcomed back after being the church’s interim pastor several years ago. All are welcome.

Coventryvi­lle UMC

Pottstown: The Thrift Shop is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Coventryvi­lle United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Ridge Road.

Zion’s UCC

Pottstown: Rev. Kim Adamson will serve as guest pastor at the 10:15 a.m. worship service at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. The Senior Choir will sing in honor of music director Rev. Mary Etta Mest’s last service before leaving to become pastor at Zion United Church of Christ in Womelsdorf. A luncheon in her honor will follow the service. Join in this Thank You for her

Hanover St. Movie begins at 8 p.m. Join us for “I Can Only Imagine.” Free popcorn, free beverages, free hot dogs, free ice cream, free family fun for all ages. Bring chairs and blankets. In the event of inclement weather movie will be inside.

Trinity UCC

Pottstown: Morning worship will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St., with updates on the travels of Flat Jesus. The card group will hold a meeting on Wednesday. The members will travel to the Coventry Ice Cream Parlor on Thursday for an ice cream social. The public is invited. The church has a Community Prayer Wall on the front lawn. Anyone may stop by and share a prayer on paper and attach it to the wall. All supplies are provided.
