Dorothy I. Miller of Schwenksville

Dorothy “Dot” I. (Burns) Miller, 89, of Schwenksville, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Sanatoga Center. She was the wife of the late Thomas M. Miller whom she married in 1948.

Born in Schwenksville, PA, on May 16, 1929, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Robert H. Burns and Annie (Hauck) Burns.

Dot graduated from Pottstown High School in 1947.

She then began her banking career working for numerous banks till her retirement in 1985.

She was a member of the Limerick Fire Company, past President of the Ladies Auxiliary - Pottstown’s Nativity Commandery #71, and past Royal Matron of the Pottstown Order of the Amaranth.

She enjoyed volunteering at Pottstown Hospital since 1991, attending craft shows, crocheting, knitting, and cross-stitching. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Vaughn Miller, husband of Judy, Schwenksville, PA; two daughters, Kathleen Haviland, wife of Joseph, Schwenksville, PA and Christine Yeager, wife of John, Schwenksville, PA; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by one son, Van Alan Miller; and two greatgrandsons.

A viewing will take place on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place after the service at Falkner Swamp Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dot’s memory to Zion’s UCC, 209 Chestnut St., Pottstown, PA 19464.
